Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders can affect how a person thinks, perceives the world, and relates to others. Symptoms like hearing voices, holding beliefs others don't share, or pulling away from people can be frightening for the person and their family. With consistent treatment, many people live stable, full lives.
Our board-certified psychiatric providers offer respectful, steady care for teens and adults across Washington State.
Symptoms we help with
- Hearing or seeing things others don't
- Strong beliefs that don't match reality or feel hard to shake
- Disorganized thinking or trouble following conversations
- Withdrawing from people, low motivation, or flat emotions
- Trouble keeping up with work, school, or daily routines
Our approach
We focus on building trust and keeping care consistent, because stability comes from staying with a plan over time. We'll work with you to find a medication that controls symptoms with side effects you can live with, monitor physical health along the way, and adjust as needed.
Family members and caregivers are welcome to be part of the process with the patient's permission.
How care works with us
- Start with an evaluation. Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation, about an hour, by secure video or in person in Lakewood when available.
- Build a plan together. You'll hear what we think is going on, your options, and the reasoning behind any recommendation.
- Ongoing follow up. If medication is part of your plan, we monitor and adjust it through regular medication management visits.
- Work with your therapist. We don't provide therapy, but many of our patients see a therapist, and we're glad to coordinate with yours.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. We are an outpatient practice and can't provide emergency care.
