Psychiatric medication works best when someone is actually paying attention. Medication management means a qualified provider prescribes, monitors, and adjusts your medication over time based on how you're doing, not on a guess and a three-month refill.

At Mind & Metabolism, medication management is provided by our board-certified psychiatric providers, including Elizabeth Calfos, DNP, PMHNP-BC, by secure telehealth anywhere in Washington State, with limited in-person visits in Lakewood.

Conditions we manage

Depression, anxiety and panic, ADHD, bipolar and other mood disorders, PTSD, OCD, insomnia and sleep problems, schizophrenia, and behavioral symptoms related to dementia and cognitive decline. We also support women's mental health, including pregnancy and postpartum.

How it works

Already on medication from another provider?

We can take over your care. Bring a list of current medications and doses, and if possible, records from your previous prescriber. We'll do a full evaluation first so the plan going forward fits you.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. We are an outpatient practice and can't provide emergency care.

Frequently asked questions

How often are medication management visits?

It depends on where you are in treatment. Visits are usually closer together when starting or changing a medication and spaced out once things are stable.

Can you prescribe medication by telehealth in Washington?

Many psychiatric medications can be prescribed after a telehealth visit. Some medications have extra requirements under state and federal rules, and we'll explain those if they apply to you.

Do you provide therapy?

No. We focus on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Many of our patients also see a therapist, and we're glad to coordinate with yours.

Will insurance cover medication management?

Most major plans do. See our accepted insurance.
