Everyone worries sometimes. Anxiety is different when the worry won't shut off, your body stays on high alert, or panic attacks come out of nowhere. Over time it can shrink your life, as you start avoiding places, people, or situations just to feel safe.
Our board-certified psychiatric providers treat anxiety and panic disorder in teens and adults throughout Washington State, by secure telehealth or in person in Lakewood when available.
Common signs of an anxiety disorder
- Constant worry that's hard to control
- Racing heart, shortness of breath, or tight chest
- Sudden panic attacks, sometimes with a fear of dying or losing control
- Trouble sleeping because your mind won't slow down
- Avoiding situations because of fear or dread
What we look at
We start by understanding what your anxiety looks like day to day, when it started, and what makes it better or worse. We also check for things that can cause or worsen anxiety, such as thyroid issues, caffeine or other substances, poor sleep, and certain medications. Anxiety often overlaps with depression, ADHD, PTSD, or OCD, and we'll sort out what's driving your symptoms.
Treatment options
Medication can lower the baseline level of anxiety and reduce panic attacks. We'll talk through options that are effective for long-term use and explain the tradeoffs clearly. Many people do best with medication plus therapy, and we're happy to coordinate with your therapist or point you to one.

How care works with us
- Start with an evaluation. Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation, about an hour, by secure video or in person in Lakewood when available.
- Build a plan together. You'll hear what we think is going on, your options, and the reasoning behind any recommendation.
- Ongoing follow up. If medication is part of your plan, we monitor and adjust it through regular medication management visits.
- Work with your therapist. We don't provide therapy, but many of our patients see a therapist, and we're glad to coordinate with yours.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. We are an outpatient practice and can't provide emergency care.
